“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah.** Psalms 46:10-11 (NIV)**
We must learn to make use of our faith both in our prayer life’s and our walks with Him. God has great plans for each one of us and often we are so busy going about our own plans we find ourselves neglecting His – much to our own harm. The most wonderful place to be is standing firm in all the will of God mature and fully assured, Amen? God did not create us simply for own pleasure but for His, and to bring Him much glory through our lives which, of course, ultimately brings us the most good. As we live out strong faith, it will keep our joy strong. Indeed, all the Fruit should be made manifest in the life of strong faith: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
Consider for a moment that all believers in Jesus are children of the King of kings and of the Lord of lords. We are never to be so earthly focused that we forget who are Daddy actually is and what amazing privileges this carries with it. We have been bought with the highest price by the sacrificial blood of our Lord Jesus and we are not our own. Further, His perfect love towards us takes away all fear. We must take the time to learn of Him, to be still before Him, to grow up in Him Who is the Head so that we may be able to walk with Him rightly. He gives us the Scriptures to study and to show ourselves to be approved workman who can correctly handle His Word. This is His chosen way for all of His followers to know Him and to grow up in Him. It is this Truth which sets us free and allows us to live above circumstances that perhaps are not of our choosing. All things allowed in the lives of every heir of mercy is to make us more and more like Him. “He is to become greater and we are to become less” as the Baptist stated. There is always clarity if we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and hopelessness when we take our eyes off of Him.
True pleasure and contentment is found only in the life of faith in the Lord Jesus, which is available to all who call on Him in Truth. Time with the Master is the best part of the day – whether we discern His nearness or not. We focus our thoughts and attentions on Him - remaining aware of God – filled with the peace that passes understanding – joyful and at ease in His Presence. Slow down. Become quiet. Deal with the distractions from without and from within and focus on the One Who loves you with an everlasting love and who rejoices over you with singing. This is to take hold of life that is truly life – the reward of abiding in Jesus is Jesus.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25 (NIV)
