“Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.”Isaiah 45:22-23 (NIV)
It is Jesus’ desire for all to turn to Him in repentance to be saved yet sadly many refuse. Scripture tells us every one of us is born broken. We are all sinful and in need of a Savior – every last one of us. Because of the fall of the first man Adam, we all enter life broken and sinful. If you have a hard time believing this you might consider the following. Have you ever had to teach a baby to cry to get their way or a toddler to be stingy with their favorite toy or a kid to lie? We all come out demanding, devoted to our own wills and ways and deceitful. No exceptions. We don’t have to teach that, it comes with the package.
Further, there is nothing we can do in and of ourselves to save our scrawny necks. Scripture tells us that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and that the payment for our sin is death. The very good news is that God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God made Him - Jesus - Who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. When God looks down at a saved sinner He now sees the perfect life of Jesus as believers are clothed in Christ’s righteousness. Turn to Him and be saved. Beware that the noise of worldly pleasures and business do not drown out the voice of reason. If you are wise let other things go and do what is of utmost importance. Turn to Him and be saved.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”Acts 4:12 (NIV)
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!” Luke 13:34 (NIV)
