For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us. Isaiah 33:22 (NIV)

Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. Isaiah 64:4 (NIV)

The Lesson Learned

Our God acts on the behalf of His children who are willing to do what is right. He is for us and not against us. In Him is fullness. In Him we have all. There is no want He cannot supply. With Him there is no lack. In the day we went into covenant with our covenant keeping God we entered into the most impregnable rock and fortress enabling us with His power to defy all adverse powers of earth or hell. If God cannot save us, He is not God. He may very well resolve to save us through our afflictions or persecutions and not from them - making us more than conquerors. God is our refuge and strength a very present help in our times of trouble. Every sin was laid upon Christ, the Great Champion of our salvation – there is no sin in God’s book against His people. We are robed in the righteousness of Christ. And if He did this for us while in our sinful and debased state do you think He would now turn against us as His children?

If the entire world were on our side we would still have just reason to fear. But with Omnipotence on our side, all fear is allayed. He takes us from “strength to strength” as we pass though our “Valley of Baca’s (tears)”. Remember, His goal is not ease and comfort here. His goal is to make us like His Son and to spend eternity with us in the paradise of heaven. We are to trust Him with our lives. He will never let the righteous fall. Nothing can ultimately prevail and triumph over the life of the believer in sweet Jesus.

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39 (NIV)

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
