33 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
28 “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. 11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? 13 Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor? 14 Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding?
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. 23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. 24 No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. 11 From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.
3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” 35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” 36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
“The Lord’s presence is infinite, His brightness insupportable, His majesty awe full, His dominion boundless, and His sovereignty incontestable.” Matthew Henry
“Praising God lifts us above our trials and reminds us of how He overcomes them....Our praise reminds us of Who God is. As we worship Him, the threats and burdens that weigh us down grow smaller and He grows bigger. The thought of an exalted God Who is entirely on our side is an awesome inspiration....Praise is based on Who He is. And He is Who He is all the time.” Chris Tiegreen
“God sits holding the helm of the world. Our Saviour encouraged the disciples not to worry about those who kill the body, but are unable to kill the soul. The clay pot may be broken, but it is like the opening of the prison door to let the soul escape to its desired liberty.” Ezekiel Hopkins
“A measureless God begins to upend our sense of personal awesomeness.” Jen Wilken
“Glory is always yours to witness. Life is too short to not choose awe. Busy is a choice. Stress is a choice. Giving yourself to joy is a choice. Choose well.” Ann Voskamp
“From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea Creation revealing Your majesty From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring Every creature unique in the song that it sings All exclaiming: Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing God All powerful, untameable, Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim You are amazing God. Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night None can fathom: Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing God All powerful, untameable, Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim You are amazing God You are amazing God. You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same. You are amazing God. You are amazing God.” Chris Tomlin - Laura Story
“Our God is an awesome God is reigns from heaven above in wisdom, power and love. Our God is an awesome God.” Michael W. Smith
“A wonder-filled life is grateful attentiveness to the awe in our ordinary.” Alia Joy
“Far above the life of fish and worms, the stars take their place and hold their place at God’s command. How much more, then, the natural events of this world — from weather to disasters to disease to disability to death. Let us therefore stand in awe and be at peace, knowing that no natural event is outside of God’s wise and good purposes, and perfect control.” John Piper
“Being surprised by the grace of God should be the story of everyone who has experienced the grace of God. Being continuously and constantly awed by the grace of God should be the lifestyle of every disciple of Jesus Christ.” Michael Youssef
“Nothing comes to pass without our heavenly Father. No evil comes to pass without his permissive providence, and no good without His ordaining providence to His own ends.” Ezekiel Hopkins
“If the Sovereign, Omnipotent, Omniscient God is on our side, as His child, seriously, what do we have to fear? He, Who loves us with an everlasting love, Who ever has His eye upon us, Who never leaves us nor forsakes us, Who not only died to save us but has also given us the Grand Deposit of the precious Holy Spirit to empower us to walk in a manner worthy of our high calling all the way Home – this God, this very God is for us and not against us. No matter what the circumstances of your life may be bellowing out. The world shouts fear while God whispers peace. He will never let the righteous fall and we can trust Him with our lives and with the lives of all we love and hold dear.” BHY
