His: At His Disposal

As believers in sweet Jesus, self must take a death blow so that the life of Christ can live through us.  We, like Jesus, are to be at the Father’s disposal – available in body, spirit, mind, emotions and will. Jesus came living an extraordinary and an exceptional life demonstrating to us our new pattern.  We are to walk as He walked. When God indwells a person through the power of the Holy Spirit, that person is no longer to be ordinary, Amen? Through His power they become extraordinary – just like Jesus. And those who claim to live in Him must walk as Jesus did – through His power and for His glory.  Religion does not save us or change us – it is Jesus. We must be born again – born from above. Flesh gives birth to flesh but the Spirit gives birth to the Spirit.

Like seals, we can be so “religiously trained” on how to walk and talk and conform to the patterns and thinking of religiosity which is a sterile and a sad substitute for taking hold of the life that is truly life.  Jesus came to shake that all up. The real thing is not man made or created – it is born of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our great Connector to the real thing – the life God intended for every human. The Holy Spirit brings God to man as man willingly makes himself available to God. Are we available to God?  Are we at His disposal? Not just snip its, but the whole of us. We can have as much of God as we desire – the well that never runs dry as we make ourselves available to Him. That is why Jesus tells us in all four Gospels that we are to deny self and follow Him. That is life to the fullest measure – life that God intended for every human being and it is the Holy Spirit that brings this life into reality. Amazing. Such precious Treasure in these jars of clay of ours. It is a wonder even that mere flesh can house it.  This perpetual fountain of Living Water cleansing us daily, perpetually filling and empowering us for His glory and our good. Enabling us to walk in a manner worthy of His Gospel, seeking to please Him in all that we say and do and think. All for His glory, all for our good.
