For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Luke 8:17 (NIV)
There is no fooling God. No pulling the wool over His proverbial eyes. The One Who makes known the end from the beginning, the One Who has the hairs on our heads all numbered, the one Who knows when we come and when we go is pristinely familiar with all our ways. Indeed, before a word is on our tongue He knows it full well. Nothing is hidden from His sight.
It is good for us to remember that sin is not our friend – neither are secrets – even the best kept ones. Rather believers are to stand in righteousness, holiness, purity and transparency through His power and for His glory – running to the cross when we fall for forgiveness and cleansing. Indeed, Satan uses secrets as a weapon against us – taunting and accusing us. Making us fearful that our faults will become known. Remember, sin soils and destroys what is pure and lovely and admirable leaving its ugly marks all over the beautiful and the precious. That’s why God hates it and desires for us to keep far from it. Sin crouches at our door seeking to devour while Jesus came to give us life and give it to the full.
Don’t live in the secret world. It gives the adversary ammunition making us fearful to stand firm in God’s will mature and fully assured. Run to the cross. Remember, as far as the east is from the west is as far as He has removed our transgressions from those who are in Christ Jesus. We were once one way and now we are totally other – and the difference is Him. We are both loved and forgiven. God tells us that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are to live our lives for an audience of One – Who knows and sees all. Indeed, repentance is actually our turning back to the place of our departure and He makes all things new again. Cleansed is such a precious word. Remember, when He washes us we are whiter than snow.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13 (NIV)
