Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
The inheritors of glory may securely build their trust in the arms of the Almighty. Indeed, the beloved of the Lord are to rest secure in Him for He shields them all day long as we rest confidently between His powerful shoulders. How foolish we are to cling to the fleeting things of this life for our stability and strength when we have Omnipotence as our Father, the Son as our Intercessor and the deposit of the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit within. Has His arm ever been weary, His heart faint or His wisdom sullied? Then why rake the earth for a better foundation than One Who is capable to bear all the weight of the world? It is picking the paste gem over the diamond to trust in and far greater than that.
The props of this earth were never intended to bear the weight of our immortal souls. How foolish to rely on things seen rather than resting alone upon the invisible God. Do not be anxious about anything nor fret because of evil men or envious of those who do wrong we are to simply place our trust in Him. In all our ways, remembering, as Thomas Lye wrote, “His heart is as tender as His arms are strong.” He can more than meet every need and He desires to be the stability for our times. Trust Him in all things even if it seems contrary to human reasoning – He remains faithful to His followers forever. In all your concerns He will be faithful. He will never leave nor forsake you.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.Isaiah 26:3-4 (NIV)
