You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.  Isaiah 26:3-4 (NIV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.   John 14:27 (NIV)

The Lesson Learned

Desirous of a constant calm?  Fix your eyes on the Prince of Peace.   Remember, peace is not the absence of troubles, trials and tribulations rather it is maintaining perfect peace and calm  through them as we rest secure between His all sufficient shoulders.  Through our prayers, petitions, thanksgivings and God’s Word we can obtain and maintain His peace which transcends all understanding guarding our hearts and minds in Jesus.  God does not desire for His children to be anxious ridden.  Peace reigns where the power of the Holy Spirit indwells reminding every believer in Christ on Whom we place our trust and that, my friends, is sweet Jesus.

Peace and calm do not belong to the unregenerate.  They are a peculiar possession of those who belong to the Lord.  As we fix our eyes and hearts upon Him we will be as Noah’s family in the ark who floated quietly and peacefully in a secured resting place while wrath raged outside.  We rest in the promises of our faithful and loving God knowing He is in control of all things and always has our best at heart -  even in the hard.

Jesus is our resting place and when we draw towards Him in His Word and in payer, praise and thanksgiving He transforms our anxious hearts into havens of His rest and unearthly peace.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.   Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.  Psalms 119:165 (NIV)

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
