How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7 (NIV)
As children of the King we are called to be faithful witnesses for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ pointing others to a saving knowledge of the Truth through our actions and words. Jesus is our supreme example (as He is in all things). He was constantly bearing witness to all in His sphere: to the woman by the well in Samaria, in the Temple at Jerusalem, to the Scribes and Pharisees, even Pilate heard His good confession. He was clear and transparent – as should we be – in bringing Truth to light showing our love for both God and man. We who hold this Treasure in our jars of clay are not to horde or be selfish but through the Holy Spirit’s power the Truth is to pour out of us in what we do and say. It is loving someone enough to share what is essential for every soul. We are never to restrain our witness for fear of feeble man (as Spurgeon states) rather speaking the Truth in love and integrity of heart we sow our seed bringing our Master much glory and making our feet beautiful!
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”Romans 10:14-15 (NIV)
