God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah Psalms 46:1-3 (NIV)
Where do we flee when our earth is quaking, when we are faint with fear and our strength is sapped? Sips of water from mere fleshly comforts are often found wanting at best and find us yearning for the Living Water which alone can satisfy soul thirst. A soul satisfied by Jesus can weather the worst of tribulations. Seek Him while He may be found. Search for Him as you would rare and beautiful treasures. Call upon Him for He is near. Our Lord is so far above anything this world offers and in resting in Him we discover both unearthly peace and pleasure. He is your souls greatest gift. Jesus loved you enough to give Himself for you and if He has done the greater will He not most assuredly do the less? He casts none out that come to Him abating all fears. We must open our hearts to the felt grace and love of God. Do we feel the love of Christ’s heart? This is what brings rest and peace to our weary souls.
“Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders.” Deuteronomy 33:12 (NIV)
