All believers in sweet Jesus are indwelled with the power of the Holy Spirit. If you do not have the Holy Spirit you do not belong to Jesus. Paul tells us in Romans 8:9 (NIV): “You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.” Plain and simple. The Holy Spirit equips us to walk in a manner worthy of the Gospel – empowering us to be like Jesus. The only problem is, we can take back control of the reigns of our lives and we can begin to blend right in there with the world – no longer looking anything like our Master, we begin to spiral down fast. Holiness is never static and neither is sin – we are either moving in one direction or the other. Remember, believer, we are not our own, we have been bought with a high price and we are to honor God with our bodies.
Jesus desires for us to relinquish the reigns of our lives to His control. When we do not do this, we kick against His best for our lives and we are the ultimate losers – believe me when I tell you this. His power is made perfect in our weaknesses and He desires for His saints to be strong in Him – not tossed back and forth by the waves of every wind of doctrine and by the cunning craftiness of men. God desires for us to know the Truth and to stand firm in it through His power and for His glory and for our good. We are no longer to blend with the world rather we are shine like stars in the universe as we hold out the word of life pointing others to the Savior. Let Him have His way with your life. You can rest secure that He has your best interest at heart and you will never outgive Him. The One Who loves you with an everlasting love and Who rejoices over you with singing desires for your best and that is always to walk in obedience to Him through His power.
