I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. Psalms 40:1-3 (NIV)
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. Psalms 18:30-33 (NIV)
We are standing firm when we stand on the Rock of Christ, Amen? Not easily swayed by every wind of doctrine, we can know the Truth and in this knowledge there is both firmness and freedom. He has promised to lead, guide and direct us in the ways we should go. Through persevering prayer and His Word, God directs the path of His people. Often, for reasons known only by God, He sometimes lingers as He hears His tired and tried, distressed and in dire straits servant’s petitions. Perhaps waiting for more eyes to see when His mighty Hand moves on the behalf of His stricken saint. God often does “Pala” things – things too hard for man to do. And the One Who gives the power gets the glory. And His timing, impeccable.
It is a great folly to lose heart in prayer. If His mercy does not come in haste will we neglect it and turn away? Wait for the Lord and keep His way. There is always purpose in His delays. We are to do the next right thing through His power and for His glory until He moves us forward. Do not stand on presumption or depend upon and flee to the arm of man. What good is that? Persevering prayer is the path God directs all His people to take.
Scripture tells us to pray without ceasing, therefore, whatever causes us to pray is a very good thing, Amen? It ushers us into the presence of the One Who has the power to accomplish all things. Wait on the Lord. Be strong and diligent in prayer and wait on the Lord – standing firm in His power. He is always working in the wait and He always has our best interest at heart. When we rely on Him, He will direct our paths, strengthening us with His power to walk through our difficult circumstances with a peace that is other worldly in its nature. On Him we can depend.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:11-12 (NIV)
