Teach The Word: So That The World May Know

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.   Isaiah 12:3-5 (NIV)

The Lesson Learned

Good news is made to be shared, Amen?  And what Jesus has done for us all is to be made known to others and celebrated and not to just a privileged few either.  Indeed, Scripture tells us in Isaiah 52:7:  “7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’” A Christian’s light should shine so brightly that no one living around them could miss hearing the Gospel and seeing it fleshed out.  Those in their spheres should know without a doubt Whose they are and Whom they serve.  Remember, our lights are to point others to the Savior – not to us - helping those walking in darkness to come into the Light as well.  Leading those who are weary to a place of rest and the thirsty to the flowing fountain of the Living water.  Believers are also used to help instruct others in God’s Word seeking to help them “grow up” in Him as well.  God never intended for us to remain mere babes on milk rather He wants us on the solid food of His Word.  And the saints are God’s chosen tool to spread the good news of the Gospel.

It is easy, is it not, to simply sit, soak and sour.  Yet, we must remember that we are held accountable for what we have heard and seen and believe to be true.  Like the woman at the well who could not contain her joy and won her town over.  She who was once ostracized, shunned and embarrassed became the town crier and evangelist – certainly putting the Prophet Jonah to shame with her earnestness and zeal!

For some reason, in all His divine wisdom, God has ordained believers to be the messengers of His great mercy and grace.  The world needs to hear this Good News as people are dying on the vine as we mindlessly scroll through Instagram or Tic Toc or whatever peeks our interest.  We all have spheres of influence and we are to be faithful.  Jesus’ last command in Matthew to us all is:  “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20.

Heart Savor

The Lion Roars

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.  2 Timothy 4:2-5 (NIV)

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
