The Lesson Learned

Amazingly, God loves us with an everlasting love as well as rejoices over us with singing. And His love never fails. He is faithful in every circumstance we will walk through. His love being great, reaching to the heavens, His faithfulness to all generations. We can fully place our trust in Him knowing what He allows will somehow, some way be used for our ultimate good and for His glory – never one surpassing the other. He uses what He chooses in the life of every heir of mercy to bring about His good plan. And we do not want to kick against His best for our lives. We are the greatest losers when we do. When we trust in Him and His love for each one of us - not simply leaning on our own understanding - our loads become lighter to bear and our thankfulness will rise even in the hardest occasions as we learn to embrace what He allows with great peace and joy. He is working in and through us even in the hard.  

The Prophet Jeremiah tells us God’s motivation is love when He writes in Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV): “The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.’” Indeed, His great love for us is steadfast so we are not to lose heart and he wisely tells us to wait on God to act on our behalf as he states in Lamentations 3:21-24 (NIV): “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’” 
God always has a fresh supply of loyal love for His own. His mercies being new every morning. Oftentimes, our outward afflictions and our inner longings scream so loudly we believe God has abandoned us, causing us to greatly despair and be fearful. But rest assured, He has not. And, as we remember His faithfulness in the past, it will crowd out our hopelessness and the turmoil that threatens to overtake us in the future. He will never abandon His own and His love has no limit. He bled and died for us when we were in the sorriest of ways – totally helpless and hopeless – so that we could be with Him eternally. He is a “with-us” God Who likes to “walk with us in the cool of the day” as He did with our original parents. Yet, our sins blocked that because pure righteousness cannot blend with unrighteousness. Unholiness cannot stand in the presence of pure holiness. Those who believe in Christ Jesus’ work on the cross on our behalf are now clothed in the righteousness of God. And in His great faithfulness, He will never seek to abandon His own. Simply amazing.

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
