What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 (NIV)
How vast is His grace. How achieving is His omnipotent power. How fixed is his faithfulness. How limitless is His knowledge. And He is forever the same with His unwavering immutability. His fathomless love reaches down to His own stating “You are Mine.” “I am your help and shield.” Believers in sweet Jesus belong to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He holds back nothing of His mercy and grace and calls to every believer to dig in the mines of the hidden treasures of His Word. Every Word of God is flawless and He has given us His Word to us to teach us, to train us in righteousness, to encourage us, to equip us, to comfort us and to cause us to stand – and He is faithful and able to cause us to stand. Nothing can compare to it.
We can have as much of Him as we want and He is limitless. All is ours and we are to satisfy ourselves with His favor, His fullness and His goodness. No one ever returns from Him wanting. He supplies all our needy souls require. He should know, He made us. “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His Word; Just to rest upon His promise; Just to know ‘Thus saith the Lord,’” as the old hymn goes.
Further, nothing can snatch us out of His all powerful hands. If you are His. You are always His. We are to be like Jesus as He was the firstborn among many brothers and He has left us with the deposit of the Holy Spirit to equip, strengthen, comfort and encourage us as we walk through this dusty earth on our way to our heavenly dwelling. He is our proof that we belong to the Master. As the Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 8:9, “And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.”
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30 (NIV)
