As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile -- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:11-15 (NIV)
We matter to God. We all matter to God. His desire is for none to perish but for everyone to come to repentance. He is interested in us as individuals and He is aware of all that is happening in every life. Not a sparrow falls to the ground apart from His knowledge. Indeed, He even has the hairs of our head numbered. Proverbs 5:21 (NIV) tells us: “For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths.” Nothing escapes His all seeing eye. And He loves each of us with an everlasting love – so much so that He sent His Son to die for us. For.every.one.of.us.
We are all precious in His sight – even though we perhaps do not feel it - and His great desire is for us to come to Him. He beckons us to “Come”. Indeed, Jesus tells us in John 6:37-39 (NIV): “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.” And, as Luke writes, Jesus came “to seek and to save what was lost”. If our Master was about this great task, how much more so should His servants be? God takes those who have accepted His gracious offer of salvation and transforms them into heralds of His good news. It is likened to a beggar telling another beggar where to go get bread. And we all need the Bread of Life.
We are often so entangled with our petty priorities rather than the demands of God’s kingdom works. We are citizens of heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Are we sacrificial when it come to evangelizing and making disciples for Jesus as His command tells us? Remember, Satan is a vicious foe and a merciless tyrant who poisons his slaves and rules their souls. And after they die, he welcomes them with fire and sulfur - eternally. He offers nothing but death and destruction. And Jesus gives all His followers the directive – “Go and make disciples” for Him in His authority and great power and for His glory and our good. He will save everyone who calls on His name for salvation.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
